Swimming and Beaches
With 87 km of Lake Erie waterfront, you're sure to find your beach adventure in Haldimand.
Many of the public parks have limited parking, but the Provincial Parks, Conservation Areas, resorts and campgrounds have amenities and support additional parking.
Public pools
Haldimand County offers public swimming pools in several communities, including the Caledonia Lions Pool, Dunnville Lions Pool, and Hagersville Lions Pool. These outdoor facilities provide various aquatic programs such as public swims, family swims, and fitness classes during the summer season. The Caledonia Lions Pool, located in Kinsmen Park, has recently introduced a water wheelchair to enhance accessibility. This wheelchair is available during all public swim times and can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Escape to Knight Beach Resort, where pristine sandy shores meet the crystal-clear waters of Lake Erie, offering the perfect destination for swimming enthusiasts. This private campground offers day passes and is a favourite for locals wanting to take a refreshing dip, lounge on the beach, or enjoy water activities with family and friends.
Of special interest is Rock Point Provincial Park’s diverse shoreline, including beaches made of varying sizes of pebbles and one kilometre of sandy beach and dunes. Another shoreline area at the park is completely made of crushed shells and also has large flat rock shelves that contain exposed fossils of a coral reef dating back to over 350 million years embedded in the limestone.
